Book Review: The Boy Who Loved by Durjoy Datta

The Boy Who Loved by Durjoy Datta is the first book from the two-part romance series about an introvert guy, Raghu and fascinating girl, Brahmi. This book makes people realize that no one 'plan to fall in love'.
The protagonist of the book, Raghu an introvert boy belonging to a normal middle-class family. No matter how hard Raghu pretend to be normal, his past guilt of seeing his dearest friend drown in a pool is never out of his mind.
Raghu has made his true self-hidden from the outside world until the arrival of Brahmi in his life. Brahmi is so much like him but yet very different and that attracts Raghu towards him against his will. In spite of trying hard, Raghu begins to care about here.
The plot of the novel, The Boy Who Loved by Durjoy Datta, takes a turn when Raghu is dragged into the depths of his fears. And his love for Brahmi is the only hope that can bring him back. Will the power of love do a miracle for Raghu? – that is what Durjoy Datta’s latest novel, The Boy Who Loved, is all about.
Written with an ascending writing style, Durjoy takes The Boy Who Loved from being warm and soft to dark, edgy and somewhat dangerous.

Zadie smith: Book Review: Swing time

Author:  Zadie Smith Pages:  464 Price:  INR 599 Genre:  Fiction, Contemporary, Literary Fiction Swing Time  is Zadie Smith’s fifth novel and for my money her finest. A “best friend bildungsroman” in the Elena Ferrante mould, the novel tells the story of two girls growing up on the wrong side of town. Residents of neighboring housing estates in London, the pair meet at a community dance class, one (the unnamed narrator) clever and self-doubting, the other (Tracey) confident and self-destructive. As with the Italian bestseller, the talented friend is the tortured one – prematurely sexual, rebellious at school, ungoverned at home – while the less gifted is an able student, determined to make it out of the neighborhood. It gives little away to say that she does, becoming an assistant to a pop star called Aimee. It is by Aimee’s side that she travels the world, jetting from winters to summers. For its plot alone,  Swing Time  makes for truly marvelous reading. The narrato

It is my fault to be pretty

I am a flower, a daisy who used to live on top of a mountain. I lived among other daisies, some grass, and a few trees. Life as a daisy was very peaceful and enjoyable. Every morning I woke up and gazed at the crystal blue sky; it promised me another day. The sky would darken later on and the stars would say goodnight to me. I lived on a lonely hill, not many humans visited it. I liked it that way. I felt safe on the hill. I felt safe knowing that I had the grass, the trees, and other daisies around me. I felt safe knowing that the sky was blue and that is promised me another good day. I felt safe when the stars said goodnight to me and when the sky would darken. I liked living on the hill…correction, I loved living on the hill. One day the sky didn’t wake up crystal blue, it was One day the sky didn’t wake up crystal blue, it was gray. I saw people on the hill. The people walked over to the other daisies. I watched someone pick one of the other daisies. The human couldn’t hear her sh

Adultery by Paul Coelho

Review: Adultery by  Paulo Coelho Adultery by Paulo Coelho Review Author: Paulo Coelho Price: Rs. 947 Pages: 272 Genre: Thriller, Romance I had the excitement when I picked up Paulo Coelho’s book Adultery as the title had a lot to say. Paulo Coelho’s inspirational content is the reason for the popularity of his books. In this book, he has a very different style of writing.  The story is about Linda, who is a journalist in her thirties, with a husband and two children. She is quite content with her married life. She loves her family but discovers that there is something missing in her life and killing her inside. She craves for some excitement. As a result, she falls in love with her school boyfriend which results in an explicit relationship. Out of her depression, she even meets a drug dealer and thinks he is a person who she could talk to. Linda feels ashamed for whatever she had done and understands the true meaning of life and love. She abando
